Check out the façade as well as the slate around the fountain. The museum complex is all like this, as was the Aviation Museum, as were the museums in Sarajevo and Podgorica. On the other hand museums I saw in Croatia seemed really well maintained. Split and Dubrovnik were awash with cruise ship dollars and Euros, other places were off the beaten track but were taken care of.
I talked to Croats, Bosnians, and Serbs who all said Yugoslavia was much better off as one state. For better or worse I haven’t spoken with any staunch nationalist yet.
